Optical encoders

Optical encoders, also called optical velocimeters, are measuring instruments for speed and length of continuous products in production line.

One of the more advanced models, the Astech VLM60, is able to detect the speeds of a wide range of materials, such as paper, fabrics, plastic films, pipes, cables and sheet metal.

The VLM60 not only measures the speed of the moving product, but also allows you to detect its length, a fundamental piece of information in many production contexts.

The device uses a precise calculation method to determine the length, which can be transferred to a control system or production reporting software.
